真空斷路器 VCB
高壓掣櫃跟低壓掣櫃最明顯的分別是，高壓掣櫃常以一個真空斷路器佔用一個櫃,不會像低壓掣櫃一樣一個櫃上下擺放兩個空氣斷路器或多個模製外殼斷路器。
真空斷路器的基礎設計與空氣斷路器相類似，只有絕緣能力較高，機械性亦較強，最大分別的是在接點位置，以一個真空瓶密封起來，也沒有滅弧器，因為真空斷路器是以真空瓶內的真空環境來滅弧的。
應用在11kV系統的真空斷路器，耐壓值多為12kV，電流值方面是630A，然後以電流互感器來限制電流量。
在真空斷路器仍未普及時，香港是以油浸式斷路器(OCB - Oil Circuit Breaker)為主。
連接掣櫃的接點除了會便用如圖的菊花頭，也會使用空氣斷路器常用的扁巴式來連接。
跳脫及閉合線圈在真空斷路器內也是經常出現，而彈簧衝衡電動機則按客戶要求而安裝了。
高壓掣櫃用的工具通常也會較大，當然不同廠商的也不盡相同。
