1.1 Scope of a method statement
The scope of method statement designed to prove installation pipework quality on 1 January
2018. The newly installed water pipe (around 2 meters) is extended from existing chilled water
pipe to our proposed CRAC. The method statement is to test any water leakage from the new installed 2 meters water pipe and CRAC.
1.1.1 Methodology of the pressure test
The pressure test is required for the following test equipment.
• Pressure Guage (Brand: Y.F and identification no: PG-01) – Product brochure and calibration certificate are attached.
• Pressure Pump
Using the above equipment, checking all the pipes are connected correctly and properly. The
pressure test is proposed to take four hours duration. During the test, the pressure is increased to 120 lb (equivalent to 54.5kg) inside of the pipe. BeSpark will monitor the reading of pressure inside the pipe. If the reading of pressure lies between ± 5%, it means the pressure test is satisfied the pressure requirement.
After confirmation of the test result is passed the pressure test requirement, ABC will add salver at the testing area to prevent the water stained on the floor. After complete of CRAC installation, ABC will clean up the site and make up the thermal insulation on the pipe. The above pressure test will be held on 16 August morning period.
The other test for water pipe flushing will be held on 16 August afternoon period, the detail of the test procedure is listed as below.
• Disconnect the CRAC unit piping
- Fill-in water to new piping, and use a small pump to circulate the water
• Drain out all water and re-fill fresh water. Circulate the water around 2-4 hours
• Fill-in the chemical and run around for 2 days, after filling the chemical, drain and refill the
water
• Take water sample for analyzes
• Submit the water sample report to Client
1.1.2 Power connection to CRAC
The power connection to CRAC will be connected from 2 x 63A power sources, and the connecting cable is used 2 pieces of 16 mm sq. XLPE/SWA/PVC Cu. Cable and CPC. The power source will be teed off from 8th floor Main L.V. switch room (W) to the proposed CRAC location. Another 32A power is required toted off from 8th floor Main L.V. switch room (N) to the proposed CRAC location. It is required to use 1 piece of 6 mm sq. XLPE/SWA/PVC Cu. Cable and CPC. Other than the above material, it will be installed of 2 x 63A TPN isolator and 1 x 32A TPN isolator with trunking.
